About Me
My name is Lorena. I am the creator of Crafty Girl In the Woods. I live in Arizona with my hubby and our dogs Daisy and Banana, and our COG (cat who thinks he is a dog) Oscar. We actually split our time between Phoenix and our little cabin in the woods in Prescott. (That is where the "in the woods" comes from in the name.)
In my "non-crafty-girl" life, I teach elementary school General Music and Choir full time; it’s a busy job, but I love it! I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. I am a classically trained singer, and I also play piano, a little guitar, ukulele, recorder (remember that from elementary school music).
In addition to my passion for music and teaching, I have always enjoyed making pretty things. I work mainly with semi-precious stones, gemstones beads, silver, and copper. I also do custom hand stamping. I like to make beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces that are meaningful and fun to wear. I absolutely love creating with metal. I mean, really, its always a good day when you can create stuff using FIRE!
I do most of my work out of my home studio or from the deck of our “cabin in the woods”.
